I got some more bad news. A short few weeks ago, we also lost another ostomy friend. Well, he was to me another FB friend from here......

GLEN BLOCK, he only turned 50 this year. His wife wrote to me to let me know he was once again rushed to the hospital. Glen Begzy and I had a great chat one day; it was the day we all connected and got each other's email addresses.....

Glen sent me an email not too long ago telling me how happy he had been, but needed a heart and kidney. With sad regret, it wasn't to be. He did know just getting a new heart would be hard, but a double transplant would be next to impossible.

To his wife LIZ, you got the best years of his life, and I'm so sad that this is my second RIP to a "friend." As Glen's post about himself being able to talk about anything, especially the silly things, we hit it off instantly...Omg, Facebook is great for some things, but at the moment I'm scared checking up on my ostomy friends. x x x x x Just a little note: Glen had his 21st heart attack, and I guess it was his time, and I think he knew it too. He did say many times he thought he was a goner, but.................. RIP matey xx

So sorry to hear of your loss, Mooza. Great friends like that are hard to find and harder to let go when the "time" comes! He will always be close in your thoughts!

Yeah a year ago I wouldn't have known what to ask to find out I had a parastomal hernia. The only reason I knew about them is from this site. Thank goodness for this site. Otherwise I would still be clueless. If I hadn't though from stuff on here to ask my surgeon about having a hernia, then I would have never had the CT and I would have never known that she should have known about it a year ago.

Sorry, sweet Mooz. But remember, you have those memories, and you can't lose those.

Sounds like he was a nice guy. I lost a good friend last week; she was only 29.

Hey guys, nice posts! Not sure how many of you or if you had any time to chat. He was a larrikin, lol, like me, so we hit it off straight away. Last time he was on here, he said he was watching Trainspotting. Wow, what a movie! We actually spoke a fair bit on here, but as I said, the UK time to Australia is a long time. But I did get to wish the ole boy a happy 50th!!!

I am losing an even closer friend who was 29, which is also hard.

I lost my best friend when I was the ripe ole age of 20

. She wanted us to have our 21st birthdays together. Kelly never got to have her birthday; she was killed 5 months before her 21st. ..........The next year, I lost my brother; he was 18, I was 22. Hmmmmmmmmmm

All the best! I would have to raise many a glass to all the kids in my area that didn't even make it to their 20s. X x x x x x x

Sorry mooza about your friend. You get attached, and then this happens. Anyway, he's at peace now. TC ambies.

Mooza - I, too, lost my best friend way before her time.  She passed away at age 33 from complications of type 1 diabetes.  She had one of the first pancreas transplants performed in our area. It failed pretty early on, and then she got on the list for a pancreas/kidney transplant and passed before she could get the double organs.  We had been best friends since 9th grade and were pretty much inseparable... kinda like Oprah and Gayle; only not wealthy!

I've had a couple of close female relationships since, but none compared to the closeness between Tammy and me... we just "got" each other.  I also lost a brother 4 years after her death. I am the oldest of 3 kids, and he was the middle brother.  We were very close.  And yes, we miss them still, every day... but I do know both of these wonderful people will remain steadfast in my heart.  And I will see them again one day... on the other side!

I am so sorry that you have such sorrow surrounding you right now.  I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers for better days ahead!

Mooz, I'm a middle child also. Weird? Yeah, but groovy too! I enjoy the way you type! Somebody is moving the keys around on your keyboard like they do mine! I don't want to lose anyone for a while... I'm having trouble recovering from losing my sis in May 2010. Bless you, Mooxa
