I just want to say to the ones that want to help me with supplies, you have to go to my post, and I give where to send them. I don't understand why you can't put emails up here. What if you find that one you want to be with, or a true friend that you have a lot in common? Well, just go to my post; I would love to hear from some more people. I am looking for pen pals. Have a blessed day.

Hi Honey, you never want to post any of your personal information (i.e., telephone number; address, etc.) on the internet in a public forum, so the reason the site and just about all others don't allow it is for your protection and theirs (so no one could try to sue them for giving out their information). The site is really a combination of two: one, an ostomy support forum you can use for free, and two, a dating site. Their ideology was that a very high majority of ostomates who are single have or had dating issues after their surgery, so they came up with the idea of a place where you could meet other single people also with ostomies, to help ease the fears of rejection. Anyone can log on, create a profile, and post on the forum topics, but if you want to meet someone and talk on a personal level, then you have to join by paying dues—that allows you to use the chat feature and enables you to send private messages to people—where it is safer to give out your telephone number or other info. Most sites have banner ads from businesses that pay the site to link to their sites and products—that is how they make the money to pay the annual fee for the domain. This site does not rely on sponsors to pay for their fees and site maintenance; they rely on the money they make from membership dues. So the only way you can contact a member here is if one of you is a member, thus can send private messages—which I think you can respond to if you're only a free member—hopefully someone will correct me if I am wrong on that.

Hello and welcome to meet an ostomate. The site charges a fee only for Full Membership, you can still interact with members here via the forums and the public chat room with free membership. The site charges a fee since it has expenses ... as do all websites, people have to spend their time to run and maintain the site, buy bandwith, servers, and other things. I am a life member here, it cost me 56$....about the price of 1 cup of coffee a week for a year. I think that is a very small charge for such a big reward. In my opinion this site is the best ostomy-related web site on the net. I hope you will stick around awhile and see for yourself. I do not own or am I in any manner connected to this site except as a member. regards. mmsh
