Ileostomy Reversal Post-Bowel Obstruction Experiences

Hi All,

I struggled with bowel obstruction for about 10 years and after plenty of operations to remove obstructions I ended up with an Ileostomy. Is there anyone here that has had a similar thing happen to them and what are the chances of reversal?

Hi there, i also have an ileostomy but for different reasons. I have been told that i will be able to get mine reveresed but it is different for everyone. Its a question that only your consultant/surgeon will be able to answer x

Thank you so much, bigal1579. I think I will wait awhile on the cherries and sauerkraut. LOL. I have gotten some good advice. Thanks to all that have replied. I sure am happy that I stumbled onto this website.

Hi SA,

Just words of encouragement - My cousin has had an obstruction 3 times and all of his were reversed, his last one about 4 years ago. But Sophie96 is right, that is something your surgeon must answer.
