Hello everyone. I have an Indiana pouch and have experienced stoma pain from the very beginning, 6 months, mid October, 2013. 4 1/2 weeks ago, my doctor had to dialate because of stenosis. For about a week or so the catheterization was very good, except for the pain. Since then, the pain AND the cathing has become increasingly difficult. My doctor says everything is OK and I have to put up with the pain? I am not found anyone online that has any stoma pain but it very well may exist? Any and all comments will be greatly appreciated. Hi,
Stomas do not have nerves, so something else is hurting. I would continue to ask the dr. what it is and why. If you can't get a satisfactory answer, perhaps you can see a different doctor.

Well guys. I had another dilation of the stoma and we left a catheter in for 15 days. The doctor said if this does not work he will have to do whatever to the stoma. 2 or 3 day stay in the hospital. Has anyone had to have this done? Also, when I mention the pain at the stoma, he said that may or may not clear up. Louie
