Has anyone had severe cramping & blood coming from colostomy?  I've had an ostomy for 9 years & this a first for me.  Anyone???

Hello Clormad.

I have never had blood coming from inside the stoma but plenty of times from the outside where I can see what is wrong. If yours is coming from the inside, I would seek medical advice.

As for the cramps, this happens occasionally and is very painful. Sometimes it's caused by trapped wind, which I can,if I'm lucky, manipulate to pass and all becomes well again. Other times it simply goes away on its own after a while. Personally, I put mine down to the fact that I get severe cramp in other parts of my body and this may be just the same symptom but located in a different place. Whatever the cause, it's not very pleasant  and I can certainly empathise with you.

Best wishes

Bill

Short review. MAOM has helped me feel better by helping others it made me feel useful, worthy, important. It took my depression away. The more you use the site the more you get out of it.

Hi Clormad,

Bill suggestions are experienced based. I can't improve upon his advice.

Being a survivor is a challenge at times. If you are bleeding internallly if it's red,

the injury may be local, if it's black it may be a bleeding ulcer...my experience.
