I'm getting bored of cauliflower and broccoli and am looking for some new foods to try. It's hard when it comes to veggies because while there are a lot out there they all affect people differently. I can eat canned beets and pealed cooked zucchini. But not canned carrots. I am wondering about canned lentil soup. Anyone with an ileo try lentil soup from a can? Like Progresso. What about turnips? Are they nasty? I can't do sweet potatoes because they cause pancaking issues. Same with squash. anyone have any suggestions? Maybe a friendly lettuce other than ice burg? I can't do spinach because it doesn't digest even in cooked forms like in soups. And I won't try kale because it's too much ruffage. I guess the new foods wouldn't have to be veggies but I was looking for veggies to try. Something healthy anyway.

After I got my ostomy I found this site and got a lifetime membership. I have had so much help from the core members, things that even the wound care nurses didn't know. If you haven't been through this journey you don't know - only the people that have experienced this first hand truly understand what your going through. The support is enormously helpful getting through this. Afterwards when you start to learn how to deal with this new normal you can begin to help others. ...mtnman.
