Had a stoma reversal on 19 April 2018. Would like to get advice on diet etc. Also, over last two days my stomac has been making some rather viloent noises and I havent been to loo for two days. After what has happened I am concerned. Any advice on what I should do. I am also type 2 diabetic on insulin. Any advice, similar experiences would be welcome.

Hello STOMAKID.  Having a stoma and not going to the loo for two days sounds like a blockage of some sort and needs investigating asap. Do not leave these sorts of things to chance as a build up of waste can cause all sorts of problems. My own preference would be to contact the stoma nurse, as they seem to know a lot more about these sorts of things than the doctors and, if need be, they can request a specialist doctors appointment and achieve that quicker than you might  be able to yourself. The stoma nurses managed to sort out this problem for me in the early days and they gave me some useful pointers as to how to resolve my problems for myself in future.

Best wishes

Bill

Thanks Bill. Havent got the stoma, had it reversed on 19 April. have been in hospital as after various  operations, adhesions have formed round the joins leading to narrowing of the bowels  and causing a blockage. Hospital have carried out a procedure and wait to see if it reoccurs. If it does will probably end up with permanent bag.

Sounds about right!  how do you feel about the possibility of a permanent bag?
