Those of you who eat a low fiber high protein diet, could you give me a sample of what you eat on a typical day? I have been irrigating, and have been told to try limiting my fiber to get more time between irrigating.

Hello, I had an ileostomy in May. My hair has gotten so thin. How long before it comes back, if ever? My bloodwork is still off. The doctor says don't worry. I have had 32 years of Crohn's disease.

When it was important... for me, it was when I dated... to not have any excrement and/or gas, I took charcoal tablets. They're available OTC in drug stores. I bought mine at a CVS.
Not sure if they affect overall health when taken 24/7.
They sure made a difference in my life; I had no anxiety when close to others.

Hi, does anyone have trouble with B12 levels?

Hi all,
Just wondered if anyone had experienced B12 deficiency with neurological symptoms after ileostomy surgery and what treatment they received!

Colon removal March 14, 23. Have low magnesium since surgery. Take two 400 mg magnesium tablets twice a day. Crush them and take with apple sauce. Have to have a magnesium infusion each week at local hospital. Magnesium is still low. Anyone having or had this problem?

I have had my ileostomy since May 2016 as an emergency and had a proctectomy in December 2016. Since I've had my last surgery, which was just over 2 weeks ago now, I have noticed that the vitamin tablets I take, along with some other meds I have, are passing through to my bag still complete! Kind of freaky and actually quite painful! Anyone had this happen before? Any advice would be great!

Hello, I've had my ostomy for 8 months and lately I've been finding little white balls in my pouch. My whole colon was removed due to Crohn's disease. These balls do not hurt in any way, in fact the only way I know that they are there is when I look. They are hard to the touch but when I squeeze them they feel gummy and just go flat. Hello all, I wanted to pose a question regarding the benefits of taking vitamins. I currently take a multivitamin and a gummy chewable calcium. The calcium is for the toll my bones took with years of prednisone use. My question is, with an ileostomy, is there a benefit to taking vitamins or would the system not absorb them? I've had a permanent ileostomy for almost 3 years after FAP and rectal cancer. I use M9 in my bag, and it works pretty well for when I am emptying things at or away from home. I have never had a single issue with smell (except for a very rare leak or blowout) coming from outside of the bag, only what was being held inside the bag. A barrier and bag lasts me a full week.
