Close Call with a Monkey and a Stoma Bag!

This story is about a traveler with an ostomy pouch who had an amusing encounter with a monkey while visiting Gibraltar’s Ape Feeding Station during a Mediterranean cruise. The traveler’s pouch, which fastens with Velcro, made a noise that caught the attention of a curious young monkey. The monkey jumped onto the traveler’s head, causing a bit of a commotion, but thankfully, everything ended well, leaving the traveler with a funny story to tell.

Here are some helpful tips and insights from this experience:

1. When visiting places with food-seeking animals like monkeys, make sure to keep any items that make rustling or Velcro noises secured. These sounds can attract animals who might think there’s food inside.

2. In areas like Cape Town, baboons are known to be even more aggressive than the monkeys in Gibraltar. It’s wise to be extra cautious around them.

3. Keeping a sense of humor about unexpected incidents related to your ostomy can make your travel experiences more enjoyable and memorable.
