Dealing with Dehydration and Ileostomy Management Challenges

This topic is about managing dehydration, rapid output, and weight loss for someone with an ileostomy. 2. Instead of drinking large amounts of fluid at once, try sipping fluids continuously throughout the day. This can help with better absorption and reduce the chances of having a sudden, high-volume output.

4. To help slow down transit time and thicken the output:
- Consider using over-the-counter antidiarrheal medications like loperamide (Imodium).

5. Try electrolyte solutions such as Gatorade or increase your intake of saltier foods to help your body retain water more effectively.
