Need help finding an opaque, flat stoma area ostomy bag?

This topic is about someone searching for a specific type of ostomy bag. They loved a transparent Coloplast SenSura Mio one-piece sample and now want the same bag in an opaque version with a completely flat adhesive/stoma opening. Unfortunately, they keep receiving bags with a convex shape, which they believe might cause leaks due to their stoma's slight protrusion and lack of deep skin creases. They are trying to find the correct model number for the flat version.

Here are some helpful tips and insights:

1. Try contacting Coloplast again and clearly specify that you need a "flat, opaque, one-piece" bag. If this doesn't work, reach out to other manufacturers like ConvaTec for samples.

2. Some users have had success with ConvaTec products:
- A two-piece system from ConvaTec has worked well for others, providing long wear time.
- Using an Eakin Cohesive Seal under the wafer can offer extra protection against leaks.
- ConvaTec's opaque pouch material is quieter than Coloplast’s, though it may start to pill after several days.

3. Experiences with Coloplast:
- One user with a similar stoma profile uses the Coloplast SenSura Mio Click flange #10502 (cut-to-fit, flat) with the SenSura Mio Click pouch #11462. They have achieved wear times of up to 8–10 days, and once even 17 days.
- Coloplast's pouch fabric is more durable, but the Click coupling can be louder and bulkier compared to ConvaTec’s.

4. Opinions on convexity:
- Some people find that a light convex barrier combined with a seal helps prevent leaks, even on relatively flat abdomens.
- Others prefer a completely flat barrier. If you don't need convexity, make sure to specify "flat" when ordering. Coloplast offers these under "SenSura Mio Flat."

5. Consider noise levels: ConvaTec pouches tend to be quieter, while Coloplast's fabric is more durable but noisier.

6. Closure preferences: Many users like the Coloplast "sandwich-bag-style" Velcro and fold closure and wish ConvaTec offered a similar quality pouch with that type of flange.
