At Bilbo...well, my "bear" friend, you have the time to start rehearsing that explanation. I suggest you do.

You could always say he was looking for a lost contact lens. 🧸

Hi I use a seat belt clip which stops the pressure on my stoma if it locks. Take care 🙂

We have a store called House of Sheepskin who makes soft and cozy seatbelt covers. They wrap around the seatbelt and fasten with Velcro. It’s super comfortable! I bought one for my car as well as for travelling by air!
They are relatively inexpensive at a cost of about $15-20 depending on the size.

I take part in these forums almost every day. They and the people that contribute to them have made all the difference in my having the courage to live a normal life with an ileostomy. The people here are marvelous and come from all walks of life and from all over the world. Hearing what others have lived through has really helped me put my own experience in perspective. I highly recommend all ostomates and caretakers of ostomates to come join us.

My hubby had a robotic ileal conduit urostomy in July 2025. His brother sent him this exact car pillow in gray. It is wonderful; it shields his stoma beautifully! He says it's comfortable too. His brother also sent him a black WansMed ostomy belt that came with a plastic stoma guard that fits into a zippered pocket in the belt. He wore this yesterday and loved it. The material is soft, thin, and comfy. This belt with the ostomy guard can be used in lieu of the seat belt pillow, as the plastic guard protects the stoma. Then, if you don't want the plastic guard, before you leave the car, unzip the pocket it resides in and remove it easily. There is also a zipper on the bottom to empty his urostomy pouch. It is very well designed. I love this website; your advice and information have been quite helpful and supportive to me as an ostomate's wife. My hubby is not yet ready to participate in a support group, but he is fine with me participating in one (thank God) 🩷🩷.
