Because I usually lie in my bed way too long and don't have time to put on shoes, unzip the tent, and run outside. Plus, my squatting skills have deteriorated. In other words, I'm just lazy.

Hi, I camp a lot but as a wheelchair user, a wander into the woods is not easy!  I have a wide necked plastic jar. Before any trip I pre prep a load of doggy poo bags by adding a large scoop of cat-litter granules to each bag and loosely tying the top. I usually allow 3 for each 24 hours. Put the bag in the jar with top edge of bag folded out over the rim, Empty into the bag of catlitter, add in any wipes you have used, tie off and dispose of when you get the opportunity.

I actually keep a smaller jar with bag, cat litter and a few squares of kitchen paper towel in my car and same in the back of my kayak (obviously getting out of my kayak and wandering behind a tree is not an option either and a neoprene spray skirt puts unwanted pressure on a full bag!).

I am scheduled for my reversal on 12/4. All my pre-admin stuff is completed and my GI signed off on the clearance letter this morning. I am super excited and looking forward to not having a bag. I just hope all goes well and heals well so I don't wake up with a temp bag which will lead to yet another surgery.

I have learned a lot from this website and will continue to be on here even after surgery. To all the ostomates out there, keep your heads up and keep pressing forward. We all have good and bad days. Best of luck to you all.

I will be sure to post my progress after surgery. I'm praying for you all.

I have read your comments over the past year and just get a kick out of them. You seem like a very adventurous person and a wise one too.

😁 I've been called a lot of things in my lifetime. But those two you mentioned? Hmm. You sure you were responding to the right person? 😃.

I'll take them, though. Thanks.
