I found that beer blows up my pouch like a dirigible; all carbonation is bad. Wine gave me dyspepsia and a watery output. Plain liquor or mixed drinks feel good; no issues. Remember moderation.

Just drink, be happy, and then empty it. Enjoy! I've had mine for 49 years. Go with what suits. We are all different. Treetops, good luck.

Yeah a year ago I wouldn't have known what to ask to find out I had a parastomal hernia. The only reason I knew about them is from this site. Thank goodness for this site. Otherwise I would still be clueless. If I hadn't though from stuff on here to ask my surgeon about having a hernia, then I would have never had the CT and I would have never known that she should have known about it a year ago.

Not if you drink. You can't just take the Imodium. You have to drink. I do. And I don't have any issues. It's thick. Bulky. And when I feel that, I empty using a little water in the bag and shake things up. Pour out contents, rinse, repeat twice. I'm good for a few hours.

Clarify: by drink I mean non-alcoholic drinks. Dig? 🤔🤦

Not if you drink enough fluids. I guess there could be a formula if one has time, but we are all different. I will gladly take a little bulk over several times of emptying, any day.

By the way, you cannot compare output between an ileostomy and colostomy person.

I know beer wasn't a good idea for me because it went through almost as fast as I could drink it! Liquor got me trashed on about three drinks. Wine was new for me, but that worked. Not as fun as the old days, but I'm still alive, so there's that! Lol

Tell me more, please. I feel like I'm emptying Eddie's underpants all day, but I also don't let it get even half full.

Curious to know your insight about calming the lil b*tth*le down, please.

Eddie, is it an ileostomy or colostomy? You mentioned having a stoma only.

The former requires a lot of work and reason. The latter is a bit more forgiving.

Do you know if you have short bowel syndrome, where they removed some of the small intestine?

Good plan. That was my plan too, but then eventually, I had to increase tablets.

We are all different. Can't set an exact timetable.

Whatever works for you. Be mindful about fatigue, dehydration, and kidney disease.

Oops! I forgot to say I have an ileostomy.

I take Imodium every 3 hrs. throughout the day due to heavy output! Game changer👍

I take one tablet about every 3 hours, especially after meals and before bedtime! It helped my heavy loose output. 👍

This is what I do too!👍
