Well....... I'm still sitting on the fence with the whole pot thing......lol.....but this has been one heck of a fun thread to read, I am trying to catch up in here just a little bit..........
I very, very, very rarely drink alcohol.....but at the moment I have two amaretto 'n Sweets in me, and I must say, if pot feels like this........I might just roll myself a fat one.....LOL!

Life has been much too stressful and I've decided it's time to seriously unwind from stuff........
So.........blow some of that funny smoke in my direction and we'll see what happens to the old Doe, ...........lol

LOL..... It really is an odd thing, how I can be so extremely 'Earthy' and strongly urge people to become more one with the Earth and all its natural healthy healing powers. We truly live in a Garden of Eden of riches that we continually pollute and abuse in so many ways. So, I preach about healthy living and highly recommend the use and value of natural healing herbs and treatments over many of the dangerous chemical man-made toxic and controversial things many doctors prescribe for us. Yet, that illegal aspect is always the biggest thing getting in my way. I am quite strict about such things and well known for that. But it does conflict with my own knowing and discovery of the enormous healing value the herb does indeed have. So, I am strongly for the legalization of it. This I now stand very firm on.
Like anything, there is using and abusing, but legal, I am now firmly convinced, it simply must be made in every state.
If that happens, I will be one of the first to likely put up a greenhouse here on the property, but until then, I sure am a tough cookie to budge, lol.

I am also now convinced that it would be quite helpful for some of my own ailments, and in small usage, would likely greatly improve my quality of life in numerous ways, not as a way to "mask" issues, problems, or situations, but as a medicinal much-needed gift of nature.

If I was in an area where it was legal, I might go ahead and give it a try. In fact, I now believe I would want to give it an experimental trial for a month or so, to analyze what, if any, help it might be for me in my own individual situations.

Making pot "legal" is to permit the state to move in on the drug dealers. Great! Something similar happened a number of years back when the states moved in on local bookies with lotteries and casinos.    But, legalization is only a half measure. What good is legal pot if an ounce for medical use costs between $150 and $300, as in Colorado, and more for recreational use.

The states will never permit private production of pot because, like alcohol and tobacco, pot is a revenue gold mine. Sure, I agree it is necessary to start somewhere, such as legalization; but the long term solution would be to remove all restrictions on the production and distribution of this plant completely.

On a positive note, I have a nice window facing south and someday I hope to replace the coleus with a little cannabis. For the present, it's just a pipe dream.

I am a product of the 60's... a wee bit of wake and bake helps me in the oddest way... it actually gives me energy, helps my mood, and does in fact help me with GI issues. And oh yeah... it curbs my appetite.

Yes, I agree with everything you said except the appetite. Quite the opposite effect on me. Pot really helped with everything associated with my 'new little friend' but especially with a fairly painful adhesion. Fortunately, I live where it's 'legal' and I do have a prescription for medical weed. Google 'Dutch Seeds' and see what pops up. Free seeds. But I'm sure you could find them or weed closer to home. Used it about a year ago, I had put thirty two years of employment with the state and was randomly drug tested every six months before I retired. Going through the side effects of septic shock, I thought, what can I lose? Well, I tried it, my appetite came back and all I wanted to do was just eat and laugh. It was great and I hope Florida will one day have this tiny little herb legal.

Should be able to smoke, and call a friend, chat like normal people, we are all adults, no big deal really.

We are all so detached, disconnected from each other in this digital world. All these algorithms are not real, we need one of our five senses to feel real, and typing ain't one of them.

Topic now just being discussed by pollies in New South Wales. I say bring it on. Would getting the munchies lead to increased output?

What about the CBD oil (I think that's what it's called)? I go to pain management every 3 months because besides the ileostomy and the recently removed kidney cancer, I have my second parastomal hernia in less than a year. I've had spine surgery with ongoing back pain. I suffer from anxiety, depression, tachycardia, COPD, and am blind in my left eye from AMD. I'm on more pills than my 86-year-old father! I figure the oil can't hurt. But when I asked my pain management doctor, he said it would show up on my urine test, which would then make my contract void, and then I wouldn't be able to get the pain meds for my back. Oh, I forgot to add, I have arthritis in both feet in the toes and have metal rods in the right big toe too.

Hi there. I used to be stationed at Ft. Hood. I am from Texarkana, but moved to Maine (less humid...lol). I will say I miss walking down Guadalupe and 6th Streets. Austin is a lovely place. I heard it has really grown.

I am using CBD oil. I no longer have to take sleep meds. It doesn't have THC in it but I may check into some with THC hoping it will help with my disc pain from my replacement surgery.

Here in Canada, marijuana has been legal for quite a number of years. Lots of shops have opened where you can purchase it. I have always used a friend of a friend to buy it, but I'll try a pot shop soon.

I smoke just before I go to bed. It shuts down the running thoughts and helps with pain and getting to sleep. When a goofy thought pops up, I say not to worry, it will be gone in 5 seconds. Then, what was I thinking? I don't care to do it during the day. It is legal here, but I still get a bit paranoid about it. I like it for bedtime.

Oh teri ouch! I was starting to get more depressed and then I read your post and it knocked that right away. We are told someone else will have it worse. You are in my prayers. As to the pot, I never found any help from CBD oil but a small pipe of it works for me. It doesn't take the pain as much as it separates you from it. It is hard to explain, but I know the pain is there; I just don't feel it if that makes sense.

As a child of the fifties and sixties, I've had a casual non-medical relationship with pot for many years. As a Canadian, it's now legal everywhere, and I grow a few plants in my yard. The world has not come to an end, Reefer Madness has not descended on us, and the insane asylums are not overflowing :-) From a medical point of view, a puff or two once in a while helps with minor aches and pains ... better than OTCs and prescriptions. Given a choice for socializing/relaxing, I'll take pot over alcohol any day.

Yes, clean cannabis is the best medicine! I did stop using it lately only so I can pass a drug test for employment. The problem is my body is not clearing! I'm 5% fat, 60 kilos or 130 lbs, and it seems I have THC trapped somewhere in my body, probably my colon that is bypassed. Just a guess, but all the people I talk to say, "Oh, you should have tested clean a long time ago!"
