I'm especially replying to those that wanted to know

About colonoscopy through stoma.

The PREP is still the WORST part of the

Procedure.  No problems going through the

Stoma...didn't feel anything.  I guess no feelings

In the stoma.

I  would HATE to do it again...but only because

I can't stand drinking all that ???? GO LIGHTLY.🤮

ALSO found reason for my past problems

From hernia.  So I'm careful how I  eat...slow

Small meals. Etc.

I hope those having this Procedure done

Will breeze through.

Best to all and thank you for your response.

Hey Asiam, glad to hear it went well. Told you it was easy peasey! You are absolutely right - the prep is disgusting, no matter what flavour. 🤢🤮 Hope you treated yourself to your favourite meal when you were finished.  What did you find out about the cause of your hernia?

In both of my cases, I had no choice. It was surgery or be put 6 feet under! I thank God that He has been with me all these times. Without Him, I never would have known what to do and might not have gone to the hospital when I did. I don't know if you have had your surgery or not yet but I hope you will hang out on this website when you are done. I have learned a great deal through the people here and it is so great having others who have had the same thing done and been through what you are about to or have gone through. The only thing I have turned down is a reversal of the ileostomy. When the doctors did the emergency rebuilding of my original ileostomy this last February, I told them I did not want to go through this again. My doctor told me at that time that I was no longer a candidate for the reversal. In a way, I was very relieved. The last three years of my life have been a nightmare for me. I do not want to go through any of it again. If you wish to be rehooked up and they say you are a good choice for that, research it carefully. Every surgery I have ever had except for Old and New Maxine and the emergency surgery on my broken foot, I have spent weeks researching. I recently had my C5 C6 disk in my neck replaced with an artificial one. I went to my pre-op with 2 pages of questions for the doctor. I knew everything that they were going to do and could talk intelligently with them. I always try to research my adversaries! Don't cancel your surgery. It is nice not to have to suffer any longer with horrible pain. We all had to change a few things around when we had our surgeries but in the long run, most of us are glad we did it. I know I am. Good luck to you!

Pleased to hear it went without any problems.

I have a scope through my stoma every 12 months luckily I have an ileostomy so I don't have to suffer drinking any yucky bowel prep

I may have to have surgery on the hernia

but my Doctor said;

Try to do some things to keep things working...

Like smaller meals, slower eating, also to lay down

If problems start that flattens  the hernia

So I'm hoping I will be able to handle things going

Forward with the new information.

Sure hope I can avoid surgery.

Take care, Asiam

Thanks for the update! Glad things went well for you. So were you awake during the procedure or did you get some happy juice? I woke up during mine before my Ostomy. Have sush a high resistance to any drug but that was unexpected and very unpleasant!

Hi,

I did get the happy juice and i was awake watched

The whole thing.. but no pain.  I'm told stoma has

No feeling so hopefully you will have a good experience.

Unlike a normal colonoscopy which is uncomfortable

If awake.

Thanks for your message.

Glad it is over and was no big deal. The prep is horrible as always! Lol I will not dread it as I used to. But then there is something so degrading about having it done through the rectum! Might even be Interesting to watch!

thanks for the feedback!

Hernias are very common with colostomy according to

Doctors and ostomy nurses.  Because of the surgery new position of Intestine it's susceptible to Hernias.

Do be careful.  I don't know what I did to cause it

Just gradually became an issue.  I do tend to lift

Things that maybe I shouldn't.

Take care, thanks for your message.
