About to go from colostomy to end ileostomy! Can vitamins still be taken or do you have to only Tk powder? Also Tk gabapentin! Realize the doctors will advise! Just curious if people on this site Tks the capsules!

I have an ileostomy. Years ago, I had problems passing vitamin pills. I switched to chewables and, lately, gummies. Same benefits, no passage risks.

This site was a true lifeline when I first became a member back in 1997. The support I received during the time of a critical time in my life.was greatly needed. I met so many wonderful people that became like family. And fell in love with a wonderful woman from the UK. Visited here and later had her come to me here in the states.

In the weeks after first having an ileostomy all tablets went straight through me intact into the bag, I started crushing them up in a pestle, some tasted like crap but it worked fine. These days I just swallow tablets/supplements as intended with no issues.

Tks for reply! I prefer to talk to people that have gone through this change in life! I will Tk your advise! I realize it Tks time to heal ! So many people in medical field don't even know what we're going through! Anyway, Tks!

I should add, I tipped the crushed tablet into a glass with a small amount of water, then drank it. GP suggested this to me.
