Hello Everyone!  It has been a while since I have posted anything on the site.  The ostomy deodorant is very costly so I have been using Walmart Equate Baby Oil (lavender scent).  This works as a lubricant and also a good deodorant for the pouch.  I also purchase the travel size baby oils to carry when I am out for dinner or travelling on airplane.  I recommend pre-rolling the toilet paper from home before you go out as the paper in public bathroom stalls can be very thin and hard to unroll at times.  I put the baby oil and toilet paper in small zip lock bag and it works great for outings.

Look at the ostomy as the Solution and not the Problem and it will be a positive step in the right direction.  I know it is not easy but keep plowing forward.  Stay well!  Penguins7

Yes, public bathroom toilet paper sucks. That’s why I carry wet wipes usually. Or, I’m standing there tearing pieces off the big roll of toilet paper making a pile to use before I empty. 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Angelica- As usual, you've written another interesting post. February 5th, 2019, was my reversal surgery after having an ileo for 6 months. I'm one of those fortunate success stories. Of course, things are different now, and I still have to be careful about what and how much I eat, as I don't have a colon. At first, I was afraid to leave the house. My biggest fear was having to use a public bathroom and have the toilet not flush! Even now, when I know that I'll be in someone else's home, I won't eat anything beforehand. I read other people's stories and sometimes feel guilty for having had it so easy, not to mention that I have a significant other who is 100 percent supportive. I've gotten so much out of this website and truly feel for those of you who have it so much worse than I. But I feel it necessary to let folks hear about the success stories.

Penquins7 thanks for the baby oil idea!  I too have to buy my own deodorant drops and it can be expensive.  I also like the idea that I can go to the store instead of waiting for them to arrive in the mail!  Thanks again
