Hi Mooza - are you talking about the Vitala for colostomies? If so, just go to the Convatec website - there is an 800 phone number to call to get on the waiting list...when it is available later in the Fall, you will be called by a Convatec RN to be "pre-screened" to see if the Vitala is for you.

Good luck - looking forward to it myself!

I’m usually not one for “support groups” and loathe whatever the hell they call Facebook these days.
This site has literally been a lifesaver because of its members, part support group, part dad jokes, part story telling, mostly friendship and if people don’t agree they just keep it to themselves. I honestly reminds me of the old days and just plain old polite society, it helps me more than I can explain. Thank you to everyone that allows me to engage with them and to all the members that help other members!

1. I disagree with Pinky.  As far as I know the product that she mentions is for colostomies.
2.  The stoma cup is available in the US from
www.cmostomysupply.com
or
www.rcscompany.com

I just went on Google to get these websites.  The RCS company is the man who invented it.  I had bought the stoma cup from him before it was sold elsewhere.  He is very friendly and helpful.  He may be able to tell you if you can buy  this in Australia. You can probably contact him through his website (see above).  If this item is not available in Australia, you can probably arrange to have it shipped to you from the US.

Thanks, Bezpol - I have never heard of nor seen these stoma cups - but I think they would be very valuable to all the folks that post here about how they can't keep their pouching systems dry in the shower, etc. etc.

I had read about people using tuna cans (!) in the "old days" of stoma care and couldn't fathom what those would be for - possibly these stoma cups take their place (?)

That's why I love this site - a person learns the most amazing things!

stoma cup

I know nothing about a stoma cup so this reply won't be much good. But for anyone interested in the stoma CAP I am fortunate enough to be able to use one, if you want to call that fortunate

I believe you must have a colostomy and be able and want to irrigate. You can't be incontinent because the idea is to irrigate, empty out and go about your business with the cap which is nothing more than a round bandaid covering the stoma. Of course, I do recommend wearing the bag during your sleep just in case. I get mine from Hollister but keep in mind your insurance might not pay for it if you don't have the condition that warrants its use. You can't just say I need it to have better intimacy. But I'm sure you all know its all about your doctor and what he says you require.

I hope this helps someone out there.

with regards the stoma cap. I ordered one from the uk  from White Rose Collection Ltd their website is www.whiterosecollection.co.uk. I found it very handy when showering it is kept in place by the stoma belt. Hope you find this useful.
