Hi, I think now I have just given up thinking of meeting any guy from (THE NORMAL WORLD) LOL. Back in August, I met a really nice chap, then he returned to Malta, where he was living. We have talked, emailed, and texted constantly. Then he told me he was coming back to England and really wanted to meet me for the New Year in Kent, where I live. We were both happy and looking forward to a relationship, so during a phone call a fortnight ago, I told him about the colostomy I have had for 10 years and that it is not a problem for me or anyone else either. He kindly said it didn't make any difference as he really likes me. He said he would still come for New Year. On Boxing Day, with a room full of people, he sent a message saying, "Sorry, I cannot deal with the problem you have!" Oh dear, well now I will only search for friends on this site; I cannot put myself through this a fourth time.
Now for the happy news: onwards and upwards, and a very happy and healthy 2015 to you all. Love, Kay x

If I was a relative newbie with an ostomy, I have no doubt that this site would be very helpful to me. The members are quick to respond to questions and issues and they are filled with experience. When I joined, I already had a lifetime with an ostomy, so I just regard it as a place to meet and communicate with other folks similarly situated. Either way, it is a good site.

A convex ostomy skin barrier can help prevent output leakage and skin issues. Unfortunately, some misconceptions about convexity may keep people with ostomies from using it.
