DISPATCHED?
Sometimes I feel there’s a mismatch
when goods are said to be dispatched,
and, having had this confirmation,
waiting with great expectation.
Sometimes the system will work well
and, as far as I can tell
the goods dispatched are on their way
and might arrive by the next day.
If and when it works like this
and my goods don’t come amiss,
the system is as it should be
and that will seem alright with me.
‘BUT!’- there are often some big ‘buts’,
with goods dispatched to do with guts
and anything stoma related
where my goods become belated.
When my supplier tells me that
goods have been sent and where they’re at,
I will expect them to survive
and predictably arrive.
But sometimes this will not be so,
my goods are lost, and I don’t know
who is to blame for this mishap,
or how to cope with all my crap.
My stoma gear’s essential stuff
so, without it, life gets tough
and I begin to wonder why
it’s my stuff that has gone awry.
I wonder if I’m not alone
sitting, waiting on my own,
wondering if my gear will come
before I fear, I may succumb.
There’s not much that is more frustrating
than sitting on your own and waiting.
