I have to admit that the more I write about stomas, the more difficult it becomes to find new things to say.
For those of you who only want to read about things relevant to stomas, may I suggest that you skip to the last three verses of this one, as the rest of it is just literary waffle.
DISSOLVE.
Five definitions of dissolve
might help us writers to resolve
the subtle differences where
we wish to write so we may share.
But I would say right at the start
that even though it’s not too smart,
the last of these can play a part
in warming the cockles of my heart.
But so I do not jump the gun
let me begin with number one,
where dissolve involves a liquid
or something that is made fluid.
The second definition here
is causing things to disappear
gradually and steadily
step by step, progressively.
Definition number three
is to dismiss an assembly
like parliament, which we all know
should serve its time and simply go.
The penultimate definition
involves a partnership partition,
like ending marriage by divorce
or business partners take this course.
The last meaning may be the best
so I would put it past the rest,
for, when all else is said and done
‘’dissolving in laughter’ can be fun.
Tears of joy dissolve in rain;
and tears of joy resolves our pain
if only for a fleeting mo’
so, that’s the way I like to go.
My stoma makes me laugh at times
which prompted me to write some rhymes
in my book: ‘Laugh or Lament’
which sums it up to some extent.
