For those of you still looking for love after your ostomy... don't give up! Ten months to a year. My surgery and time in the hospital were particularly intense. And I decided against doing a reversal of my ileostomy.

My reversal was done at 7 months. I'm 99.9% recovered after a little over 4 weeks after the surgery.

Ileostomy here - 3+ years and no reversal yet by my choice… Originally, the surgeon said several weeks. I was on vacation and had to see a new surgeon when I returned home - the new surgeon said 6 months. jb
