Trying to decide on a vertical or horizontal stealth belt. Feedback appreciated.

Hi. I was never a fan of these belts.

I tried a horizontal one. It just felt like it squished everything way too tight.

Others may agree or not, but my feeling is going horizontal

is most comfortable. I wear a wrap that way. You want confidence and support.

You will get it and the feedback you need from members here. Sit tight.

Kinda depends on what you have and use. I have a colostomy and use a 1-piece system. I bought a vertical belt because I have firmer output and can't really turn my bag sideways like you could with a 2-piece system. You can use either with any system, but a little thought on your personal situation will dictate what's best for you.

I don't use a belt except when weight training, and I just use a cheap, strong elastic waistband about 8 inches wide.

I use a Stealth Belt (vertical). The horizontal one will cause you to have to empty your pouch more often.

My ostomy nurse is setting me up with the Click pouch and a horizontal Stealth belt.

My thinking is that the belt is held to my side, so there is less flapping around when I run, bike, or hike, but then I can rotate it to vertical when I am not doing physical activity and not wearing the Stealth belt, which is easier for me to empty and manage.

It will be a few weeks before I have everything, so I have no direct experience to help you - I will be curious what route you take.

I tried both the horizontal and vertical Stealth belts. The idea is great, and the support for the bag is a big plus. The deal breaker for me is the firmness of the material in front of my stoma. A pancake disaster! The Coloplast or the Hollister belts that attach to the wafer work best for me.

So you have no support for the bag itself, just the mounting bracket, correct? You let the bag hang freely?

I agree those belts are tight and squish your stoma. I didn't like that feeling at all.

Like you, I wear a mounting plate belt, plus a wrap to support the bag on my right side.

Use a 2-piece system to turn it. Great idea too.

You are gonna love that system. It's what I use.

I do like the vertical belt. I have one that has some peristomial hernia support. I am sorry to say that their customer support is now completely gone. I just bought their Pro model; it is horizontal and not worth the money spent. If you are interested, we could talk privately.
