I was in two minds as to whether to issue a warning about this post, as it is the first of a whole series on this particular subject (presently numbering 51 and rising).
Whilst wondering if I should post them all (one by one), it occurred to me that this might be overdoing it. However, folks should perhaps know that, the more rhymes I write about stomas, it becomes more and more difficult to find topics directly relating to them without repetition.
What I am suggesting, is that if anyone out there 'likes' these rhymes, then if they tick the 'like' icon, I will continue to post them. Otherwise, I will just select those which may be vaguely related to stoma life.
Best wishes

DIY.

I have a thing for DIY,
which means that in my life I try
to do ‘most everything I can
for myself, or that’s the plan

Making, baking, cooking mending,
building houses and extending,
earning, learning, never ending,
writing fighting and defending.

Even though it’s not my trade,
flood defences have been made
to keep the raging waters out
for that’s what DIY’s about.

I’ll mend anything that’s broke,
and even make some things bespoke,
with my trusty nails and glues
chisels, saws and all sized screws.

I’ve mended glass and porcelain
that might have ended in the bin
were it not for DIY
and the urge to always try.

My DIY takes many forms
which don’t conform to normal norms
but DIY’s not what it’s called
when life itself is overhauled.

‘SOLAR’ is the term I choose
to explain techniques I use
when using the DIY technique
to make my life seem more unique

Self-Organised Living and Reflecting  (SOLAR)
is the method that’s affecting
each feature of my life to date
that I may say makes me feel great.
