It's 63 degrees here beachside. Our house doesn't have a heater. Just wear a jacket occasionally. We have a natural gas fireplace. But I had to block the front off... a certain weasel was using it as an outhouse. She's lucky I didn't put a bag on her.

Santa is performing last-minute safety checks on the sleigh, Rudolph is polishing his nose, and the reindeer are still playing reindeer games. Elves are nearly done with wrapping presents... and Mrs. Claus... she's enjoying her morning espresso. So all systems go for Christmas 2024.

Hi all, it was 8 degrees last night with the stars out at 11:30 PM when I took the dog out for her last pee, and it didn't take her long to get it done.

Supposed to reach 76°F here in Palm Springs, CA, today. We've been having record-setting temps recently. Doesn't feel much like Christmastime weather. HAPPY HOLIDAYS to you all!
I spent the afternoon with my son in Manhattan yesterday. Temperatures were in the single digits, and the winds were high. Running for the 7 train, I couldn't feel my cheeks and was grateful to be inside for three hours!
A lovely fresh 18ºC (64ºF) in the southeast of Oz today, but unfortunately, it's the nice before the shite as it's scorching up to 35ºC for Christmas Day and 38ºC (100ºF) for Boxing Day. However, it will be back to the low 20s for the rest of the week, so I really can't complain; 'tis summer after all!

All those freezing in that cold spell, take heart. It is healthier to live in cold climates than in hot ones. On the other hand, they tell us that longevity rates are highest in Hong Kong and Japan, but Switzerland is up there too. North of here is a place called Hunza, which has a very high number of 100-year-old people living there. They eat a lot of apricots and drink glacial water. Whisky tastes better mixed with mineral water. Temperature where I am: Max 22°C, Min 12°C.
