Arggghhhhhh, ConvaTec no longer makes these Great Barrier Wipes. They came with an abundant sticky solution which would aid in pouch adhesiveness. The company sent another type of wipes which are inferior, hardly sticky, causing great concern that the pouch will lose its seal. I found some on eBay for $35.00 for 50 pcs. I had to buy them, as insurance will not pay for them. They will last me for over 100 days. I am scrambling, calling other companies for samples. I have received free samples from 3 companies, and all these wipes were inferior to AllKare wipes. I'm very active, climbing ladders, averaging 3 to 4 miles walking a day, and doing a lot of bending on daily chores at home or helping family members with plumbing, painting, changing oil on my car, and other family cars. Well, hopefully, there will be a product just as good as AllKare's.

When I first got my ostomy and thought I needed barrier wipes, those Allkare ones were great like you say. I also used Cavillon and thought it worked well too. I haven’t used a barrier wipe/spray in probably 3ish years. Good luck finding what you have confidence in.

Thank you for your quick reply. I'll discuss irrigation with my doctor. I'm sure it would be down the road. My output is still very liquid. It's all so unpredictable at 6 weeks post-op. I have such a fear of constipation as I struggled with this forever. I used a fiber source to thicken the stool but it hasn't helped very much. I guess I will continue to be positive but it is a bit of a pain. This website is great and everyone is so informative. Cheryl

I like those wipes. I hate that they have discontinued them.
