Do you warm up the paste before you use it? I have found it works better for me if I warm it up in front of the little space heater I have for a very few minutes. I supervise it so it doesn't get too hot. But it's more pliable. What are your tips and tricks for the paste in the tube?

Very helpful

Yes, I use a rice pack warmed in the microwave for about a minute, then apply the paste and flange.

Hi there! I usually run my tube of paste under warm water for a few minutes; this softens it, and it works like a charm!

Hello fellow ostomates, my life has changed since I met this wonderful French Canadian lady on this site on 3-17-2013. We were married on 12-20-2014 in Phoenix, AZ.

I have an intense dislike of the paste. Hard as heck for me to scrub off. I was ready to try sandpaper

That looks horrible to deal with.

I just wrap it in a heating pad on low for about a minute before using.

I just immerse the stoma paste tube in hot water and give it a minute.

Hair dryer on medium but I rarely use paste. Love the barrier rings.

I do use the blow dryer around the seal and barrier ring. Helps everything stick.

I use the Coloplast Sensura Mio ostomy barrier system for my permanent ileostomy. I apply the Coloplast ostomy paste in a bead fashion around the edge of the precut hole in the barrier plate. The ostomy paste is quite thick. While I am assembling all of the components for my ileostomy change, I place the Coloplast ostomy paste tube in the sink containing hot water. This softens the paste and makes it easier to apply to the inside of the precut barrier plate. Another option would be to heat the tube of paste with a hair dryer (which I use to dry the skin around the stoma during the changeover).
