Well, I had a leak at work today. Changed the pouch this morning and apparently nicked the tail Velcro closure and made a tiny hole. I didn't realize I had a leak until getting up from a web meeting at my desk and realized the moist feeling on my right thigh was not from sweat. I had my surgery back in April 2011, and I have to admit that I've been living in a bit of denial about having an ileostomy. I found this forum late last year, and it has been helping. Any “ostomy@ work” advice would be appreciated. Also, filter or no filter on a bag? Which is best? Thanks and love you all.

If I was a relative newbie with an ostomy, I have no doubt that this site would be very helpful to me. The members are quick to respond to questions and issues and they are filled with experience. When I joined, I already had a lifetime with an ostomy, so I just regard it as a place to meet and communicate with other folks similarly situated. Either way, it is a good site.
