I originally had an ileostomy for 3 years. Parastomal hernia and slight prolapsed stoma. Surgery to reverse, and now I have a colostomy. I am an avid golfer for 56 years. I wear a full belt while playing golf; however, I have another parastomal hernia. I use a Hollister convex wafer, and I have no leakage issues. My only problem is that it looks fair/bad. I know if I went back to my surgeon, he'd recommend another surgery. I just don't want to have another surgery, as I have had complications each time. Any golfers here have any other recommendations other than the full belts I wear?

Perhaps wearing a full belt all the time to prevent further herniation? (No hope hernia support belts, for example.) Walking and abdominal core strengthening can also help. Maybe modified maternity clothing? My friend wears all maternity pants with her ile.

This group has been my go-to during my loneliest hours whenever I've had a "bag blowout" at 3am and there was no one else in the world to talk to.

Because it's a global community, there's always someone here to lend an ear, provide advice, and just hold my hand if that's all I need.

Sure, there's also a lot of camaraderie, fun topics, and laughs, but the main reason I come here is for the total acceptance I get from the members. No one else on the planet could possibly "get" what I'm going through, not even my loving husband or supportive family.

The "Meet an Ostomate" forum is definitely a one-of-a-kind family, which I am very proud to belong to.
