About 3 months after my ileostomy and ureter repair surgery, I had to start working again and could not do anything strenuous. So, I took on a job working the midnight shift in retail (no customers), bathroom accessible any time I needed, light duty work (mostly). With that said, I'd been there over a year and took on a high volume, high stress position, thinking about higher pay and such. Well, that didn't last long. Our store is in the process of a complete remodel and temporary bathrooms are in the parking lot! With being responsible for 30 to 40 new remodel employees at one time and the overall function of the process, I rarely had time to pay attention to my ostomy. In a 2-week span, I've already had 2 leaks and many close calls! I've decided to leave the company (over the top stressful & no sleep) to pursue my own company. I've decided that I deserve to be happy! My family also deserves to have a happy mom❤️ My finances are not many, as I live a pretty simple life and nature is my passion. I consider myself a horticulturist, but I am always learning something new, and I now work with private families educating them on how to care for their plants and trees. I evaluate their property, establish a plan, rehabilitate any sick plants or trees, do light gardening, harvest fruits and vegetables, and create a personalized binder for my clients that contains photos of all plants and trees on their land, how to care for them, before and after photos of projects I have helped with, and progression photos of their revived plants and trees. I have one client right now and am creating flyers to pass out to homes nearby.

Me too, I might be older than you, but I have had time to get a lot more crazy. It's a great world, isn't it?

There's a book I never read, but the title reminds me of you: Do What You Love, the Money Will Follow.

Congratulations! You do deserve to be happy.

I think it's wonderful. I was a gardener and worked at a plant nursery for around ten years of my working life; it was the best way to live and earn, and didn't really feel like work at all.

Wishing you happiness and success in your venture 🌹🌻

Good for you, girl. Some of us never discover what we are very good at, let alone make a living from it. Well done.
