I suspect most people now know that I have been advising Canadian ostomates for some years now to apply to CRA for the Disability Tax Credit.

If you are a Canadian… just do it! We can all use a $10,000 a year tax credit. I have for years. The Ostomy Association of Canada has a brochure that will show you how to fill out the form. (If you have had a non-reversible ostomy for a few years, you should check the box in section 3 to collect back years. Jim7😎

Not a Canadian, but I hope some find this information useful… and if they are able to collect for past years, they should be buying you lunch!!! Ostos helping ostos…🫵👏👏👏

Yeah a year ago I wouldn't have known what to ask to find out I had a parastomal hernia. The only reason I knew about them is from this site. Thank goodness for this site. Otherwise I would still be clueless. If I hadn't though from stuff on here to ask my surgeon about having a hernia, then I would have never had the CT and I would have never known that she should have known about it a year ago.

I've been getting it for years, and it sure helps. Good to post this once in a while, as there might be ostomates out there who aren't aware. Thanks!

It is interesting to note that this deduction or part thereof is transferable... like to your wife if you don't use it all.

Just one more reason to add to my list of why I wish I lived in Canada.
