I came across an article about Auburn's kicker, Alex McPherson, who lives with an ostomy. He opened up about how he's back on the field this spring and feeling good about his game. It's always inspiring to see athletes push forward and succeed while managing something like this.

For anyone here who enjoys sports or just likes to see positive stories, this one is worth a read. It's a good reminder that having an ostomy doesn't have to stop you from doing the things you love.

Thanks for the post which is inspirational.
I have just been watching an interview with an English  lady ostomate who has just completed all the major world marathons. She too was inspirational and confident about sharing her experiences with a stoma.
We need a few celebrities to share their life experiences.
Best wishes

Meetanostomate has been a great avenue and resource to meet new people with the same challenges, fall in love, fall out of love but most of all fall out of loneliness that comes with self-doubt…

Mark,

Thanks for posting articles about athletes with our problem. Jake Diekman, a pitcher from our former Oakland Athletics, was my inspiration. If they can play with our condition, we can live with it. He and his wife established the "Gut It Out Foundation." He would visit kids with UC and show them life isn't over.

Your articles are probably helping a lot of kids and adults who are in this new world of ours.

Keep them coming.

Best of health,
