I have just got Stoma, and I find it a nuisance, but if I had not seen a medical practitioner, the other outcome would probably be worse.
I am very sympathetic to you, and you have learned to live with it and get along with life. Well done! I live in Doncaster, Yorkshire, England.

Take great care of yourself.

It is a nuisance, agreed.💯

And you do have a great attitude moving forward, agreed. 👍

Sometimes you have to ignore the little red turd making 👽 alien.

You mentioned in your profile that you don't know why they gave you a stoma, but had you not seen your doctor, you would have suffered some ill fate.🥺

Ok. Sup? With that? Were the doctors and hospitals running sales on giving stomas to random people? 😆

By your words, "not informing why." 😳

Dude, you need to get the why!

People here will help with whatever questions or concerns you have, but details, please?

A stoma? Kinda vague, man.. Do you know if it's an ileostomy or colostomy?

Welcome to the FBC. You got your entire future ahead of you mostly full of questions eventually.. and we might be more helpful than your health team with "why" it happened... We got the answers because we have the experience. Dig?

First and foremost, this is a place where you’ll meet great people.

The conversations in the forums are energizing, intellectual, poetic, hilarious, and deeply informative.
This is a grown-ups community (18+) - a place to find true friends who talk about hobbies, stories, things they’ve read, learned, and lived.

It’s also a place where everyone has an Ostomy.
Which makes it kind of convenient - you can simply ask, and you’ll get honest, thoughtful answers from people who truly understand.

You are so right.  I will never forget this website and the people who have helped me.  I had my reversal in January of 2014.  I try and come on this website weekly to see if I can help or encourage other individuals get through the day-to-day process of life.

You don't know why you have a stoma?

Sorry, not buying that.

With you on that!💯.

Before any operation, you have to sign and agree - consent - informed consent papers.

I think he's just shy about opening up - like a virgin on prom night.😉🤭
