Hi, all: Curious to hear if anyone plays pickleball. I have had my "buddy" for 25 years now. It has never stopped me from swimming, triathlons, biking, kayaking... and for the last 7 years, pickleball. I got certified as a Pickleball Canada Instructor 2 years ago, and I play and teach almost daily. A few local players know of my ostomy; most don't. No one on the court would suspect (not that I would care). Hoping to hear from other PB players or those who want to get into it. I am thinking of gathering a group of us for a week or two at an all-inclusive with PB courts in the Caribbean. Your thoughts?

I play 3 or 4 times per week. I live in a 55-plus community with tennis and pickleball. I've had my ostomy for almost 4 years. Life has changed, but I'm grateful I'm still here. Which resort has pickleball?

This site has been a blessing for me in learning how to cope with and navigate this journey as an ostomate. I have a colostomy as a result of a perforation in my colon since May of this year. I don't know yet if it will be permanent or reversible. The people on here have provided me with so much advice and information about living with an ostomy that I don't think I could get anywhere else. You all have given me hope and a place to come to for support. I still struggle with acceptance, but know that it will come if I am patient. Patience has never been my strong suit! Also, I love all the humor, although it really pissed me off when I first came on here. Thanks to all of you.

I started 5 months ago, having an ostomy since 2021. I'm 69 years old.

I would live as if you didn't have it, but let all your friends know you have it. Like you, I am

very active, playing golf several times a week,

going to the gym several times a week. All my

friends know I have the bag. I have found

people appreciate the openness. No surprises.

Enjoy life; what's the alternative?

I love pickleball! My goal for recovery from my surgery last year was getting back on the PB court! I play 2-3 times a week. What makes me feel secure about playing is wearing a Stealth Belt, so my stoma is more protected. I wouldn't play without it.
