This website will help with support, tips, tricks, and possibly a few laughs. Ask me how I know…well, these are a sampling of the folks who helped me when I was a newbie and continue to help on my journey.
There is, for instance, TerryLT, very helpful and empathetic; IGGIE suggested the use of the IGGIE clip…who knew?…and so many found that helpful. Susan represents strength and courage with double ostomies and is so very knowledgeable and always willing to share information. We have Henry…well, Henry is Henry, our intellectual connection trying to keep us on our toes. We have Bill the poet - amazingly insightful and able to nail it in poetry. Then there is w30bob, very informative and great at explaining things, usually with a bit of humor. Warrior, not shy, is often informative and there when you need a few laughs. Alex, with his straightforward and brief but helpful input…this is only a small sampling, as there are many kind and understanding folks here on MAO…visit often for help, support, or just plain inspiration. Grab on to the go with the flow (flow may be a poor choice of words) lifesaver…..jb

I began my Urostomy life February 27th, 2023...a month and a half ago. I stumbled upon this site from another on Youtube and website called VeganOstomy and between that site and this one, most of my fear and worry of not having any answers other than calling the Dr's office recording menu and hoping to hear back in the next day or two for an answer to leaks, skin irritations etc, or just feeling alone and the "no one understands" thoughts I had to look forward to in my mind were all put to rest by these two websites and the community here at MaO!! I have been here for a few weeks now, and the help and support offered by the members here is just amazing!! The information and support is absolutely priceless for anyone recently out of their surgery and have tons of questions or had it for years...sit down...have a good read and you will see for yourself!!

Ahh, thanks, JB. Ditto what Iggie said; you are up there at the top of my list. This made me a little emotional, actually. I feel the same as you, and I know I wouldn't have been able to accept and adjust to this new reality as well as I have if it weren't for the amazing people in this group. I feel incredibly lucky to be a part of it, and thank you for making a special effort to mention it.
