Having Good Luck Finally With Leaks

I first started on here in October talking about my stoma being moved from the right to the left and having numerous leaks and bag changes. I've said it was so short (almost flat) I couldn't see where to place the bag. Well, the last three bag changes went without a change for 7 days! Back to my old schedule when it was on the right side. It did come up ever so slightly, so I just practiced focusing on one spot to aim for, and it seems to have worked. I'm also putting on a protective sheet by Coloplast first, then my bag with a moldable ring on that, and it seems to be working. I'm still going to get a 2-piece. Plus, I've always had a convex barrier, and I stayed with that. The 2-piece I'm waiting on is a Coloplast flex barrier and bag. The bag is attached by an adhesive, which you peel off the cover and place the sticky side on the barrier. It's like a click, but it uses a sticky side to attach it instead. I had a lot of samples sent and had the Coloplast 2-piece click and the 2-piece flex, and they're both good. But the flex moves with your body more naturally and feels like you have nothing on. A person who's active would benefit from this greatly. I also ordered a hole cutter from Nu-Hope. They are only for 2-pieces. Everything's better now. As Madea would say, "Hallelujah!" 😂

Congratulations! It's nice when you finally figure it out... even the second time around. 🤣

How wonderful! I am wondering about your 2-piece that is flexible; it sounds interesting! I have a colostomy that ends up in a crease in my belly and have been using a Convatec 1-piece that is mildly convex, but I'm wondering if the 2-piece flex would work for me! I did some of my exercises and created a leak just by bending over. GRRRRR! I will look this up; thanks!

I wear a one-piece Hollister that is a 'soft' convex and is quite flexible. You might ask Hollister if they make the same soft convex in a two-piece?

Hi yo,

Glad to hear you've again found your groove! It's interesting (to me) how when things are going well with an ostomy......they tend to go really well. But when they don't........it's why we need sites like this one.....as it's a whole other world.

;O)

Unfortunately, my skin is not a fan of Hollister adhesive. 😞

I really liked it, and I hope you get a sample and like it too. Let me know when you try it whether you like it or not. They have it in a convex and just regular.

I also tested samples of the Flex. I didn't think it would stay stuck on the wafer! I like this model the best. I'm glad things are better for you, too!

Was it the Coloplast Flex? It feels like you have nothing on. Did you feel the same? They have the Sensura Mio Flex and the Sensura Flex, which I believe is just a regular barrier, not a convex. I love it. I think I also mentioned I ordered a Nu-Hope hole cutter, which can only be used on a 2-piece. I'm waiting for that to arrive and will let everyone know how that goes.

Yes, the Sense a Mio Fex here too. I have a couple of different hole cutters. Stoma size changes over the years. It is so much faster than using scissors. Fortunately, I can get the right size pre-cut from the manufacturer. Byram offers to cut them on some makes and models for a fee, but I don't like the idea of not knowing how they are being handled since they have to open the packaging.
