Alright. I had my colon, rectum, and sphincter removed over a year ago and am looking for a surgeon to perform a take down.

Really, I'm considering getting my adhesions cut out because they're causing me constant issues, but I heard there are surgeons that will do graciloplasties or make neosphincters and I thought that would be perfect for my situation. It's quite possible that those procedures are still experimental, but I'm willing to give anything a shot while I'm still young.

Has anyone had those procedures done and how did they work out?

Hi Sven,

I never even knew this was possible. With further researching this subject it seems they will not be prusuing this in the US. Here is the link I read from: http://www.thefreelibrary.com/Artificial+Bowel+Sphincter+Treats+Fecal+Incontinence-a077611260

Ah, thank you for that. :3

It still makes me wonder, though, if there are any other options. Suppose I have more reading to do.
