Well, I met with my surgeon on Thursday of last week, and he's adamant about doing surgery in February of 2010. He feels that he should take down my pelvic pouch and leave me with a permanent ileostomy. Yuk...

My question is, has anyone had a J-pouch procedure done and then had an ileostomy done, then reattached the J-pouch? I am running out of time...

However, way too much to type here... Read my blog, and if you like, you can get in touch with me and I will give you my opinion... Michael.

Geekyjen,

Thanks for the reply.  I will be seeing my doctor on Friday and mention Entyvio.  I did not remain paralyzed for more than 2 days, but it was terrible and I was so scared.  The doctors just used alot of xanax and other drugs like that to UN paralyze my joints that were being attacked by the remicade.  Turns out I have been diagnosed with LUPUS. It is attacking my nervous system.  I had ulcerative colitis in 1996 and they had to remove my colon.  Had a J pouch for 10 years, until it started failing.  I then got a permanent iliosomy, and I suffer from severe chronic diareha, and I dehydrate frequently.  I recently had a proctectomy, and that is when the new autoimmune disorder, Lupus, appeared.  I have had two hospital stays now because of the blisters and the paralyzing incident.  I will be dealing with this forever now.  I have just been working on acceptance.

I love this website because of wonderful people like you!

Been there, done that, and bought the T-shirt to prove it!!
For God's sake, girl, don't you pay any attention to the other good people in here?
I went through the same thing; my surgeon refused to do a reversal for me after telling me that in 1 year she would. She said that I would have to wear that thing for the rest of my life. That I would have diarrhea (can't spell it) for the rest of my life. I told her "that dog won't hunt" and found me another surgeon. Got my reversal a year and a half ago and am doing great. I can do anything physical, or at least that a 74-year-old man can do, and will give the fifty-year-olds a run for their money. Darlin', get another surgeon, and I wish you as good luck as I had.

God bless
