Hi! I haven`t posted in a while. In Sept./16 I had a subtotal colectomy toxic megacolon (colon sepsis); end result an End Ileostomy. (had cardiac arest during the procedure) Been basically getting along okay.

These past few days, every so often get a sharp pain inside ( feels like it`s inside stoma and surrounding area). Only way to describe it, feels like pinching skin with fingernails or a sharp knife. There`s been lots of output; so I don`t think it`s a blockage. Is it possible a particle gets blocked, while other stuff gets through? It`s not continuous; starts every so often, then seems to stop on it`s own. tried heating pads and massaging area; this didn`t make it better or worse.

Wondering if anyone else has experienced similar symptons? My wife is a retired RN; she can`t see anything noticable from the outside of stoma.

side note; I have prostrate cancer; don`t know if anything here would be affecting this.

Thanks

Lloyd

Hello and welcome to meet an ostomate. The site charges a fee only for Full Membership, you can still interact with members here via the forums and the public chat room with free membership. The site charges a fee since it has expenses ... as do all websites, people have to spend their time to run and maintain the site, buy bandwith, servers, and other things. I am a life member here, it cost me 56$....about the price of 1 cup of coffee a week for a year. I think that is a very small charge for such a big reward. In my opinion this site is the best ostomy-related web site on the net. I hope you will stick around awhile and see for yourself. I do not own or am I in any manner connected to this site except as a member. regards. mmsh
