I had/have a sinus infection for a little over a week.about a week ago my stomach was a little sensitive, no pain or anything, just it seemed to get full easily or certain foods weren't appetizing. I figured it was the chemo doing that as it does from time to time. Oncologist put me on cipro for the infection and 2 hours after, I vomited. Cipro can cause GI upset, but the GI upset is unlike anything I have had before. I've had parasotes, worms, dysentery, salmonella, and my entire colon, rectum, appended removed. The pain from beginning appendicitis and stage 3 cancer didn't compare...to how I feel. I feel like I am in labor. The good moments are like, for women who know, the "am I in labor?" But about 2-3× an hour it's "I'm about to push out a baby" pain.  I went to urgent care and blood test was ok just low white blood cells as expected with chemo. They did a stool sample, awaiting results.

I had a full bag 6 x during sleeping so my diarrhea is constant. Greenish. Usually the giving birth pain begets diarhhea. I also have nausea on and off. I have lost 7 pounds as of Sunday and now I know I've lost more and I was thin to start with.

I'm waiting for urgent care to call with results and if my stool is ok, I'm calling my oncologist and colon surgeon for advice.

But I'm seeking advice here too.

Kind of related, my sinus infection is improving, but now I have asthma.

Very helpful

Hell Gemd. I am so sorry to hear of your pain and my thoughts are with you in this distressing time. Diarrhoea can be caused by a number of different things so you are doing the right thing by having tests to ascertain more precisely what is causing it. I know it may seem counter- intuitive to tell you to keep drinking plenty of liquid  but if you don't, it may lead to dehydration, which will complicate matters even more. Most of us have had chronic  diarrhoea at some time in our lives and can attest to the fact that it is by far and away the worst thing for pain, nausea and that feeling that we are going to explode.  I do hope things get better for you soon and that this horrible experience does not repeat itself.

Best wishes

Hello and welcome to meet an ostomate. The site charges a fee only for Full Membership, you can still interact with members here via the forums and the public chat room with free membership. The site charges a fee since it has expenses ... as do all websites, people have to spend their time to run and maintain the site, buy bandwith, servers, and other things. I am a life member here, it cost me 56$....about the price of 1 cup of coffee a week for a year. I think that is a very small charge for such a big reward. In my opinion this site is the best ostomy-related web site on the net. I hope you will stick around awhile and see for yourself. I do not own or am I in any manner connected to this site except as a member. regards. mmsh

Gemd, just thinking about you, really, I thought you were in the UK?  Your banner says Texas. Anyway, get yourself help NOW. Before everyone goes away for the holiday--I was super-sick over Thanksgiving 2017 when the rehab sent me home early with no pain med for four days.  All I had was aspirin. Contacted my surgeon early Monday am--furious, he prescribed some super meds for a week and moved my home Health Nurses visits up.  They started the next day.  You're a patient--get to the people who know you and your case so you can get what you need and use the holiday week to get on your feet and begin to heal.

Found out I had a stomach bug. Still have diarrhea but all other issues are gone, and diarrhea now is likely because I'm eating only soft foods. Word to the wise....you dont want a stomach bug when your immunity is shot from chemo. You will be near death.
