Had a long post, but it didn't make it. All went well; the prep day was easy and I had no problems with the bag holding my output. Glad my doc went with Miralax in Gatorade; much tastier than that lemonade stuff my last doc went with. The next one is 10 years out!

Wondering if any permanent ileostomy patients have tried any of the new weight loss drugs and if so, do they work the same as they do for normal patients; i.e. can they be absorbed normally for us? Anyone who’s tried them tell me what your experience has been. Thanks.

Since my sigmoid colostomy in December, my chosen appliance is the two-piece Hollister. I want to move to irrigation. My question is what if you have diarrhea? The other day I had 4 outputs into my colostomy bag over 2 hours. I noticed what I ate for dinner was in the last output, well I noticed the fruit. All 4 outputs were runny not like my normal output that is more solid.
What do you do if this happens and all you have is a stoma cap?

If you go online to AliExpress and type ostomy into the search bar, you will find huge amounts of ostomy products from bags, wipes barrier rigs, belts, sprays the whole range. Does anyone else have a really rubbish immune system since having a stoma? I seem to be poorly with something every other week.

Hollister flange without the tape to peel off. I also use a skin barrier called Tens Aces. I buy that on Amazon. It is a little pricey but so well worth it. Around $30.
