Lonely for a Friend

This topic is about someone who feels lonely and is looking to connect with others who understand their situation. They visit a forum daily, hoping to receive personal messages, but none have come. They are concerned they might be uninteresting or not using the site correctly and simply want to make friends who can relate to their experiences.

Here are some helpful pieces of advice and insights shared by others:

1. Don't be discouraged. Some members might not be able to send the first message unless they are full (paying) members. You might need to send the first message to get a reply.

2. Consider alternative ways to connect. One member suggested using an external address for contact, if the forum rules allow it.

3. Explore the chat room and member profiles. Several people have invited the originator to chat and become friends, including some long-time members.

4. A fellow Texan with 15 years of ostomy experience reassured the originator that this community is usually supportive and welcoming, encouraging ongoing conversation.
