Issues with Cavilon Skin Barrier Wands in Water

This topic is about someone who has switched from using Dermarite Wands to Cavilon Skin Barrier Wands and is experiencing issues with the wafer (or barrier) lifting when they shower. They are concerned that the same problem might occur while swimming, which was not an issue with their previous product. They cannot use extender strips because they cause blood blisters and are looking for solutions to keep the barrier secure in water.

Here are some suggestions and insights that might help:

1. Try using Welland Barrier Spray. Apply it generously around the stoma and let it dry completely. This should help improve the adhesion, especially when in contact with water.

2. If your skin can handle it, consider skipping the barrier layer when you plan to swim. This might help if your skin doesn’t need constant protection.

3. Consider using 10 Aces Adhesive Spray. Spray it on both the pouch and the barrier ring, then wait about 5 minutes before applying. Some users on TikTok have reported that this method prevents lifting.

4. Whichever spray you decide to use, make sure it dries fully before attaching the wafer to ensure the best results.

The person is also concerned about the cost of suggested products but is open to trying them if they effectively solve the lifting issue. They also need the wafer to stay on for a full week due to a limited supply of spare wafers.
