Issues with Cavilon Skin Barrier Wands in Water

I have been using Cavilon Skin Barrier Wands since my old Dermarite Wands are so hard to find. Well, I noticed that in the shower now my barrier starts to come unglued. That is not a desirable effect if I want to go swimming any time soon. If water is going to cause my barrier to come unstuck, then I can't go swimming. This never happened with my Dermarite Wands. They worked to keep my barrier in place. Can someone advise me on why this is happening and how I might be able to prevent it? I know I can use extender strips, but they give my skin blood blisters for some reason. So it's not the best option for me.

G-Day IC,

I use Welland Barrier Spray. Give it a good spray all around and then let it dry off, and everything sticks great. Give it a go.

Don't use the barrier when you know you will be going swimming. Do you have any skin issues that require you to use a barrier all the time, or could you get away with just using it if and when needed?

G-Day Ben,

Why would you not use a barrier when going swimming? The barrier helps everything to stick better.

I have just purchased a product called 10 Aces Adhesive Spray. You spray it on your bag and the barrier ring, let it sit for 5 minutes, and then attach. I've seen a lot of ostomates on TikTok use it, and they have no issues with lifting. I'm excited to try it.

It's kind of expensive, but I guess it is worth a try if it will stop the lifting issue.

I couldn't find anything called Welland Barrier Spray. I found barrier spray, but it didn't say it was a good adhesive, just a good skin protective product. I need something that will adhere the bag to my skin until I am ready for it to come up.

Yeah, that is what I want, for everything to stick better. Right now, it's not sticking great. And I need it to stick for a full week because I don't have enough wafers to be changing it every time I shower or swim.
