Fast Food Impact on Output in Ostomy Bags?

This topic is about understanding how eating fast food might affect the amount of output in an ostomy bag. Here are some insights and advice shared by others:

1. Many people have noticed that eating fast food can lead to a noticeable increase in ostomy output.

2. Foods like french fries, bread, and corn products, which are common in fast food, contain high levels of starch and processed fibers such as potato fiber, corn fiber, and white flour.

3. About 10% of this starch is not absorbed in the small intestine, which means it reaches the stoma and increases the bulk of the output.

4. After meals that are heavy in these types of foods, you can expect a significant increase in output.
