Seeking Advice on Revisiting the Swinging Lifestyle with an Ostomy

This topic is about someone who is considering re-entering the swinging lifestyle after having an ostomy. They and their partner had explored this lifestyle 20-25 years ago, and now a couple from that time is visiting. The partner has suggested watching adult movies together to see if intimacy might develop. However, the person with the ostomy feels hesitant about engaging in sexual activity, even though they have recently gained confidence in wearing lingerie that conceals the pouch.

Here are some pieces of advice and insights shared by others:

1. Talk openly: It's recommended to have a conversation with the visiting couple beforehand. Explain the situation with the ostomy and see how they react. Being open can help avoid surprises and might lead to acceptance.

2. Don’t assume rejection: If you are comfortable with your own body, others are likely to be comfortable too. An ostomy doesn't have to mean the end of sexual enjoyment.

3. Use timing and context: Let the conversation flow naturally. During normal catching-up, you can bring up health updates and disclose the ostomy, asking for understanding rather than sympathy.

4. Prepare but stay relaxed: Choose an attractive outfit that conceals the pouch, enjoy drinks and conversation, and remember that everything else functions normally.

5. Manage expectations: If the couple seems hesitant at first, try not to take it personally. Sometimes, a lack of knowledge can create distance, so providing information and reassurance can help everyone feel more at ease.
