Not really, it is so deep. I would love to send you a picture.

That's the one I use. Give it a try. Hopefully, it will be enough to stop the leaks.

And welcome to post a picture if you want. We've seen it all before.

Good Evening Bob and All,

I checked my email and saw new postings. That's when I usually visit the site. I've recently met a few others who have developed UC and have made contact with them. I've directed them to this site. I also use the site to look up concerns they or I have. This site has been unusually helpful to me. I have seen questions and concerns of others posted. After I scroll down and see similar comments that I would make, I don't comment. As for social media interest, I have a Facebook account (due to work). As of this date, I have one Facebook Friend (and don't even know how that happened). I find the content here more relevant to my life. Then again, I'm old school. If I want to see how a friend is doing I just make a call.

Stay Safe and Sane all. Back to the hockey game,

SharkFan

Yes, absolutely. I would try it without any barrier ring at first.

Hi, sometimes it is what we eat at night that makes us have accidents. Food that has lots of gas, such as broccoli, cabbage, and so on. Dairy, etc., I usually don't eat after 5 PM. If I'm hungry, I get apple crackers. That will be fine. Hope a few tips can help your wife.

I use Hollister two-piece.

No, it is not adjustable but moldable. I have not found them useful with a flat barrier/wafer/flange. More useful to layer additional convexity to a convex barrier ring. Since you have the deep convex barrier from Coloplast, that may be enough. I never had to go beyond Coloplast's deep convex barrier.

I am using the deep convex with a barrier ring for my slightly retracted stoma. It looks strange when I take off the wafer to change it because you can see the dent in my abdomen. But it works for me and is not uncomfortable at all.

Why the thinner ring? Is it better? We have been using a thicker ring, and it's swelling up a lot.

Hi, Susan,

What products do you use? Do you use a ring too? Does your ring swell? The nurse gave us a convex ceraring, but that swelled up and leaked after 2 days.

I'm using the Coloplast SenSura Mio with Adapt barrier rings.

My ring swells quite a bit, but that just means it is working. If it looks like it may block the stoma, I clean it off.

There are different ideas about the barrier rings, and the rings seem to work differently in different situations. The idea behind a thinner ring is that maybe the ring is preventing output from getting in the bag, and maybe a thinner ring won't do that. You'll need to try it to see if it is better or worse for you.

How do you clean the ring off when it swells? Forgive me as I am trying to understand everything and help my wife?

I pull it off with toilet paper or a paper towel. It gets a bit stretchy. You kind of have to pull it off. Don't worry about making it neat. You just need to keep the stoma clear to empty into the bag. Level with the baseplate or very slightly higher is fine. I don't bother clearing it unless it looks like it will block output, but you may need to be more vigilant given how much trouble she's having with leaks.
