Everyone is different when it comes to how food affects us but having an ostomy definitely makes eating a bit trickier ...especially those of us who have an ileostomy, seems our output is mostly water at the drop of a hat...quite normal...sort of an annoying issue to deal with tho.....

Is it an ileo you have? I have an ileo and pasta/rice is a mainstay for me.

We're all so different ... they usually thicken my output. As does potatoes.

For me, coffee will make things watery fast (I only drink decaf and it still happens).

Take care,
Beatrice
p.s. are you sure it isn't something you're having along with the rice or pasta ... like a nice bottle of chianti or a few glasses of sake

the pasta and rice may be constipating you hence the water. I get thick and constipated easily. My doctor prescribed generic miralax to keep me going. I use it as needed he wants me to take it everyday. Also milk products thin some people. Its truly a nightmare trying to find a happy medium. Hopes this helps. how far is Ardmore from Tulsa? Sherry

Whenever my husband finds he's a little too watery, he eats more bananas. They thicken his poop.

Pasta and rice have been good for me! And like the others said, you cannot go wrong with a good old banana!
