What can I do at home to deal with partial blockage?

I'm going through the same thing. At the moment, I have a heating pad on below my ostomy. I massaged around the area. Yesterday, I tried walking around. Today, I think I'm sticking to liquids.

Yeah wow, this site helped so much, I mean really who do you know with this infliction? No one, felt so alone and disgusted by myself every turn.
But it ended up being so damn strengthening, I got fucking moving, really only another choice.

I was damaged by a procedure and ended waking with this, I understand all of you.. perhaps you had to have it, I get it.. doesn't matter either way.
Just wanted to share that

Fluids, massage your stomach, lie on your left side, maybe right side if your bag is on that side, not sure. Get up and get moving.

If you feel up to it, try a carbonated drink; it might cause some discomfort, but those fizzy air bubbles can help push stuff through. And use a heating pad.

What are the symptoms? I'm unsure if I've got one or if it's because I ate too many fried foods Saturday. I'm stressing as I'm new to this.

What did you eat?

Many of the things that have already been mentioned, massaging around the stoma, heat, movement, and liquids. If all that doesn't do it, a small bottle of room temperature original Coke (not sugar-free), straight down. That has never failed me. I always keep some on hand. Good luck.

I use MiraLax & Gatorade (helps with dehydration).

Mix half a bottle of the MiraLax in a 32 oz bottle of Gatorade. I drink 2/3 to the whole bottle depending upon how bad your blockage is, and usually within 30 min my blockage is gone. Make sure that you have access to a bathroom, as once it gets going, it's like the floodgates have opened.

Delgirl,

Thank you. I am definitely going to keep this trick in mind for when I get one. Massaging, heating pads, and walking don't ever work for me, nor do knees to the chest, lol, so the Coke thing is a sweet deal.
